Today on the Best of Oklahoma Gardening we are having a herb festival! Host Casey Hentges starts with the 5 best herbs to have in your garden. We'll do a quick overview of each herb before we go into more depth of why these herbs do so well in our gardens. The #1 herb of choice out of the Top 5 Herbs chosen.....Basil! We stay in the herb garden to highlight rosemary varieties for function and hardiness. Then we take some time to look at varieties of thyme in the herb garden. We have some cilantro that will soon produce coriander. Casey looks at some fun mint varieties and has tips for keeping them welcome in your garden. We leave the herb garden where Host Casey Hentges looks at Walker’s Low Catmint, Nepeta x faassenii ‘Walker’s Low’. An Oklahoma Proven perennial that is a prolific bloomer and pollinator magnet. Food Specialist, Barbara Brown, has nutritional information about hemp seeds and features them in a tasty parfait.
