Oklahoma Gardening

Full Show (4512) 9/22/18

Host Casey Hentges identifies a soft textured plant filled with bright red blooms that has become a volunteer ground cover in our orchard. In the grass garden we have an ornamental grass to provide a delicate highlight gently dancing in a summer breeze. Extension Food Specialist Barbara Brown prepares a refreshing grape dessert salad. We continue our tour of gardening in northwest Oklahoma. In Alva, Oklahoma we visit an oasis on a windy hill. Also in Alva, we visit a home that has utilized a small lot for maximum gardening, including a sunken garden that you just want to dive into. We visit with Woods County Extension Educator Greg Highfill about the recent wildfires in northwest Oklahoma and look at how the plant life has responded.
